You Can Access Android Files On A PC Via Windows ‘Your Phone’ App

You can mirror your phone content on a PC using a new solution. If you’re the happy owner of an Android device and also a Windows Insider in the Fast ring, you are among the very first people who can check out Microsoft’s Your Phone application.

Your Phone offers easy access to your phone files

Microsoft started testing the experimental app which allows users to have easy access to the data on their phones from a Windows 10 PC.

Of course, you can still use third-party apps and cloud services to do this, but this feature promises a more seamless way to access files across devices.

When you access Your Phone on a computer, you will see your latest snapshots on your Android device.

You’ll be able to drag and drop them straight into another app such as PowerPoint.

Microsoft revealed this brand new drag-and-drop experience earlier in 2018 during its annual Build developer conference in Seattle.

It will eventually be available for iPhone users but only in a limited capacity – to send the webpage that you’re viewing on mobile to a computer so that you can continue watching videos or reading text on a big screen.

Update to at least Android 7.0

It’s important to mention that your phone has to be running Android 7.0 and above in order to be able to use the experimental feature.

All you have to do is fire up the Your Phone app and then download the mobile app.

After setting things up, all you have to do is keep an eye out for a desktop pin that should be rolling out in the upcoming weeks.

This will provide much quicker access to the photos that are on your mobile device.
