Chances are you haven’t heard about this smartphone manufacturer before. Well, Maze is a new phone-maker that made their debut into the markets recently, with their first Android phone called Maze Blade that featured a relatively boring rectangular design with huge bezels. Although the first failed to catch any attention, it now looks like the company is going nowhere! Around two months ago, the Chinese-based smartphone manufacturer announced their much-rumored flagship Maze Alpha that features a marvelous edge-to-edge design and a plethora of latest and powerful hardware packed inside.
Although the handset was announced a few months earlier, the pricing details weren’t known until today. According to the company, the device will cost $179.99 for the early pre-orders, while the actual price will be around $219.99 after June 30. That kind of pricing would make it the cheapest bezel-less smartphone in the market, and give the ridiculously expensive Essential Phone and Samsung Galaxy S8 a hard run for the money.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Maze Alpha rocks a gorgeous 6.0-inch FullHD AMOLED display with 16:9 aspect ratio, all fitted into a smaller 5.5-inch like body; thanks to the all-screen front design. Below the display is a fingerprint sensor integrated on top of a physical home button. Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek’s powerful processor – the MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.5GHz.
Besides that, the phone is available in two RAM variants: 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage and 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage. A microSD card slot is also present, in case the default storage capacity wouldn’t be enough for you.
On the camera front, there is a dual camera setup in the back featuring 13MP and 5MP sensors, while the camera on the front is a 5MP one for the selfies. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat onboard and comes with a USB Type-C connector at the bottom for charging and date transfers.
The most interesting part of the device is that it is backed by a massive 4000 mAh battery. A battery that big is something you can’t even find in latest flagship devices from big manufacturers such as Samsung, LG or Apple. On a comparison Note, the LG G6 came with a 3300 mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8 featured a much smaller 3000 mAh battery.
Maze Alpha seems interesting for the price, ain’t it? Let us know your thoughts about the device in the comments!
