Samsung Galaxy S8 was a popular phone among users, and fans are waiting for the S9 which should be launched in February next year, at the Mobile World Congress. The upcoming device is supposed to come with plenty of improvements, including some major ones.
There are some similarities as well, especially when it comes to the front camera and the design, despite the fact that the size is different. Let’s compare the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S9 and see what they have to offer.
When it comes to processor, Samsung Galaxy S9 should have a major advantage. It is believed that the S9 device will receive Qualcomm’s SnapDragon 845. This processor hasn’t been even announced, and Samsung should be the first phone that will receive it. Additionally, there might be a deal that will allow Samsung to have exclusive access to the 845 processor. The same thing happened with the Galaxy S8 devices which had the SnapDragon 835 processor.
The S8 screen had 6.2 inches, while the S9 will come with 5.7 inches, which means that it will be smaller. They both have capacitive touchscreen and Super AMOLED (Corning Gorilla Glass 5). However, the screen resolution is different. Samsung Galaxy S8 has 1440 x 2560 pixels, while the S9 is supposed to come with 2160 x 3840 pixels, which should offer better images and quality.
The S9 phone should come with more options, compared to the previous one. The S8 had 64 GB of storage, while the S9 has a 128 GB option as well. When it comes to RAM, Samsung S8 had 4 GB, while S9 will have 6 or 8 GB of RAM. There is also a big difference when it comes to external storage. While S8 had up to 256 GB, the upcoming device will have up to 2 TB.
