The Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the best smartphones ever release and people’s expectations were fully met upon launch. However, there’s quite a difference between those that just use the essential functions of the S8 and those that thrive to learn as much as they can about their phones. If you want to know how you can fully take advantage of the Galaxy S8 and make use of all its neat features, check out this tips and tricks guide.
Now you have a do-it all mean machine as your daily drive. The only thing left is to make it look the part. Get a beautiful wallpaper and check out some of the top ringtones for the S8.
Using the fingerprint scanner to get to your notifications
The Samsung Galaxy S8 has a massive display and users love it. However, as cool as it may be, there’s always the inconvenience of being too hard at times to reach the top of the screen. But if you can’t reach the top of the screen, how are you going to pull down the Notifications tab? That’s easy. Simply enable Finger Sensor Gestures from the phone’s Advanced Settings, and you’ll be able to use the fingerprint sensor on the back of the smartphone to bring down the Notifications panel.
Edge panel customization
One complaint some users had with the Edge panel on the Galaxy S8 is the fact that it’s more of a gimmick or an eye pleaser rather than a feature with real functions. Unfortunately for them, they are mistaken. The Edge panel is a pretty intricate feature that allows you not only to access all of your important shortcuts quickly but also to customize them. You can scroll through multiple function windows like favorite apps, contacts, etc., by swiping inward from the Edge panel on the right-hand side. At the bottom of each row is a Settings option which you can use to select what appears on that row.
Making use of the multitasking tool/split screen feature
It’s a shame that not nearly enough people are making use of this great tool present on the Samsung Galaxy S8. This tool allows users to split their screen into two halves and multitask on multiple applications at the same time. To do this, simply go to your Recent menu and hit the multitasking icon near the open app which you want to use in split screen mode. After pressing it, the app will open in a half-sized version, leaving room on the screen for one more app. Once you have your two apps on the screen, you can resize the two panel to what space ratios suit your needs.
Using Google Assistant
Many might believe that the Galaxy S8 doesn’t come with an integrated AI voice assistant because Samsung’s Bixby is still in a “soon” phase. That’s not true however as you can use the already implemented Google Assistant to do your bidding. Once you set it up and get it to adjust to your voice, you can easily give it commands with your voice. To open Google Assistant, simply long press the Home button at the bottom of the S8.
There you have it, some of the most useful things you can do on your S8, that many people just aren’t aware of.
