If you are the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ device that is connected to Verizon network, then we have some good news. It seems that the mentioned carrier has released a new update for the two handsets, which comes with a few changes.
HINT: We have to mention that the update comes as version NRD90M.G950USQU1AQGL for the Galaxy S8 and as NRD90M.G955USQU1AQGL for the Galaxy S8+.
One of the major changes that the new update comes with is a new “Faster recognition” option that can now be found in the Face Recognition menu. Once you enable this option, you will be able to unlock your handset instantly, but keep in mind that security is compromised. In other words, if the “Faster recognition” is enabled, there are chances that someone will be able to unlock your device using a picture of you.
The new update also comes with a small modification to the round lock/unlock button that was introduced in the previous update. We remind you that this button is allowing you to turn off the navigation bar. It seems that after this update, you will need to double tap it (instead of a single tap) in order to make it do its work.
You will also notice a minor change on the Always On Display (AOD) feature. The new update brings an adjustment in order to prevent cases when an alarm related notification doesn’t appear on the AOD while the handset is idle.
As expected, the update comes with usual fixes for Bluetooth, Bixby, but it also updates many other applications. You will also notice some changes that have been brought to Knox and VPN.
What are your thoughts about the new update that was released by Verizon for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+?
