Nintendo Headlines for the Week: Darkest Dungeon, Dark Souls and Mario


This week’s headline for Nintendo Switch included several titles: the RPG Darkedt Dungeon, Dark Souls, new DLCs for Super Mario Odyssey, Pokken Tournament DX as well as Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. A new event will also come for Pokémon Go and a bright yellow Pikachu New 2 DS XL will be released with the Pokémon Crystal at the end of January.

Darkest Dungeon

This video game was developed and published by Red Hook Studios and it was released in 2016. The player can choose from several heroes and he or she has o explore the dungeons of a gothic mansion received as inheritance.

Dark Souls

An action and role-playing video game developed by FromSoftware company. It is the sequel of Demon’s Souls and, thus, the second installment of the Souls game series.

Players are sent into the kingdom of Lordran where they are considered cursed and have to discover the faith of its kind. The game is pretty difficult according to many gamers.

Super Mario Odyssey

This 3D platform video game was published and developed by Nintendo. As the name suggests it follows Mario across his journey to save Princess Peach from the hands of Bowser, Mario’s nemesis who plans to marry her.

The game was released in October last year and players assume the role of Mario. They are followed by Cappy, a spirit possessing Mario’s hat.

Mario + Rabbits Kingdom Battle

The game was developed by Ubisoft and it is a crossover between Mario and Raving Rabbids. The game offers single and cooperative gameplay. The first release was in August 2017 and it had a good reception. The game’s graphics were praised as well as its gameplay and depth.

All in all, it will be a quite fun week for Nintendo Switch owners.
