Both Lenovo IdeaPad 120s and CHUWI LapBook 14.1 are budget friendly laptops. With the holiday season around the corner, many people are looking to buy some presents for themselves or a loved one. If unsure which one to choose from, this article will display their specs and features.

Under the hood specs:

Both have 4GB of RAM, IdeaPad has DDR4-2400MHz and LapBook has the DDR-1600MHz.

The IdeaPad features a Celeron N3350 processor clocked at 2.4GHz, while the LapBook features a Celeron N3450 clocked at 2.2GHz. The two laptops share the same Intel HD Graphics 500 display. Analyzing their specs, both laptops have similar performance.

Battery life and keyboard:

Both laptops use batteries which should last up to seven hours unplugged. The CHUWI LapBook 4.1 has a 45WHr and the Lenovo IdeaPad 120s has a 32WHr.

The keyboards are also pretty similar; the IdeaPad 120s has a Precision touchpad with decent sensitivity and tracks well, while LapBook has a less smooth texture on its touchpad. The winner is clearly the Lenovo model.

Displays and ports:

The CHUWI LapBook (14.1-inch display) uses an IPS panel and a FHD (1,920 x 1,080) resolution, while the IdeaPad (14-inch display) uses a TN panel with a 1,366 x 768 resolution. The Lenovo model has a better color reproduction and a much clearer picture.

The IdeaPad 120s has two USB-A 3.0 ports, one USB-C and one HDMI 1.4, while the LapBook has one USB-A 3.0, one USB-A 2.0 and a Micro HDMI.

The winner in terms of display and resolution is the LapBook, while for ports; the clear winner is the IdeaPad.


The IdeaPad webcam is a modest 0.3 MP camera with low video and stills quality. LapBook has a 2.0 MP camera, which is slightly better. A budget-friendly laptop also means making some compromise.
