Huawei Releases Smartphone Sales Report for Q1 to Show that it Beat Apple

Huawei once announced that its main goal as a company is to become the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world. This is a bold claim and everyone doubted Huawei, but it looks like the Chinese tech giant is actually getting closer to achieving that goal.

The reason why people doubted Huawei is because history shows that Chinese companies have a difficult time competing against the likes of Apple and Samsung.

Huawei Surpasses Apple

Well, it looks like Huawei is not a regular smartphone manufacturer since the company released a report which shows how many smartphones it sold in the first quarter of 2018 and to everyone’s surprise, Huawei beat Apple!

Even though Apple’s latest iPhone X is considered to be the best iPhone model ever made, it looks like Huawei didn’t have any problems defeating it. Huawei sold more than 54 million in the last quarter and this shows a 40% increase in comparison with last year’s sales.

Samsung is Losing Money

While Huawei had an easy time defeating Apple when it comes to quarterly sales, Samsung is still ahead of Huawei. The South Korean tech giant sold 70 million smartphones in the last quarter. However, Samsung recently announced that its disappointed in this sales percentages since it expected Galaxy S9 to do better.

Improving Brand Recognition

“The continued growth of Huawei is impressive, to say the least, as is its ability to move into markets where, until recently, the brand was largely unknown,” stated Ryan Reith who is an IDC analyst. From the looks of it, the Huawei brand is getting bigger and the company still has a lot more room to grow.

Let’s hope that Huawei releases the sales report for the second quarter of the year because we can be sure that will look even better than the first quarter does. Huawei keeps pushing smart marketing campaigns and this is helping the brand become recognizable all around the world.
