The Chinese manufacturer launched Huawei P9 back in April, 2016 and the smartphone has been quite successful. Seeing P9’s popularity, Huawei decided to create an upgraded model. The new model is called Huawei P10 and it has been recently launched during MWC. Even better, a premium P10 Plus edition has been unveiled as well. The two devices will be going against the likes of Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8. Today we’re going to take a closer look at what Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus have to offer and see if they are able of taking on Apple and Samsung’s upcoming smartphone flagships.

Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus: Display

There are two different variants of the device. The first one ships with a 5.1 inch IPS-NEO LCD panel. The display features a full HD pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a rather large pixel density of 424 ppi. On the other hand, the bigger P10 Plus model comes with a 5.5 inch IPS-NEO LCD panel that has a higher pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560. Additionally, the pixel density is even larger being 534 ppi. Worth mentioning is that both displays have been coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus: Specs

When it comes to hardware power, Huawei is known for always going over the top. With that being said let’s take a look under P10 and P10 Plus’s hoods and see what powers them. First off, the entry level variant comes with the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset. The processor is also coupled with a Mali-G71 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The bigger model uses the same high end HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor which clocks at 2.4GHz. The difference is that this time it has been paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus: Can They Take iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 On?

We think it’s safe to say that Huawei has been raising the level of competition in the smartphone industry. Without any doubt P10 Plus is able of competing at the same level iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 will be. While the standard P10 model will appeal towards mid-ranged budgets.
