Activision Confirmed Treyarch is Making Call of Duty 2018. Black Ops 4 Rumors So Far
It’s no surprise to hear that the famous Black Ops sub-brand will be behind this year’s Call of Duty game development. And this not a rumor!
On 8 February, Activision has confirmed during an earnings call that this year Treyarch will created the next Call of Duty game. There isn’t any other information from Activision on the future Call of Duty game, but there are rumors that it will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
A New Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is In the Making
The confirmation from Activision about Treyarch making the 2018 Call of Duty arrived only a few days after a report suggested this fact and said that the name will be Black Ops 4. In that report, there are also some information about the game and what players would expect from it: less sci-fi elements than the 2016 Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
In a tweet post by Treyarch, we can see some hints about how busy and excited they are: ‘Looking forward to the year ahead. . . we can’t wait to share more!’
Usually, the next Call of Duty game would be announced in April or even in May, before E3, so we will have to wait a little more time to get specific details.
We were actually expecting to hear about Treyarch creating the 2018 Call of Duty. The last one created by Treyarch was Black Ops III, which was released in 2015 and developed in three years. So, since it’s been three years from the last one, it was bound to hear about a new Black Ops this year. Until now, Call of Duty games have rotated between Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch.
Another announcement made by Activision Blizzard on 8 February was that Call of Duty: Black Ops III had less success with their first-quarter sales than Call of Duty: WWII.
