Samsung holds the title of being the world’s biggest tech company. Despite having hundreds of thousands of employees, Samsung is still relying on Google when it comes to smartphone software updates. Although, this doesn’t mean that Samsung doesn’t have its own mobile operating system. The South Korean tech giant has been trying to push its own mobile operating system called Tizen to all its devices for a couple of years now, but it’s not been able to do it successfully because there are too many Android fans.
From the looks of it, Samsung knows that the people who purchase its smartphones are Android fans and that if it forces them to use Tizen, everyone is going to run away from Samsung smartphones. Therefore, a brand-new leak was discovered which shows Samsung has teamed up with Google in order to release a special version of Android 9.0 Pie.
Special Version of Android 9.0 Pie
The new version of Android 9.0 Pie is designed especially for Samsung’s smartphones and it ships with a new dark theme and updated UI (User Interface). The updated UI looks quite interesting since it features cards and curved corners, something which Android fans have been asking Google to introduce for a long while now.
The cool thing about this special version of Android 9.0 Pie is the fact that it ships with lots of unique features that only Samsung fans are going to enjoy. We don’t know the full list of features that Samsung’s new operating system will have to offer, but a new leaked (featured above) gives us a glimpse of what to expect.
- Updated Quick Settings;
- Rounded Buttons;
- Refreshed Lock Screen;
- New Clock Design;
- Horizontally-Scrolling List of Apps;
- Wake Motion;
- New Hand Gestures.
It seems that Samsung has realized that Tizen will never be able to replace Android OS and it decided to team up with Google and create unique versions of its latest operating systems so that Samsung smartphones are different from the competition.
