Microsoft announced during the recent E3 event that it plans to release a cool new Xbox feature known as FastStart. The feature’s main goal is to improve the user experience that Microsoft’s Xbox systems have to offer and FastStart has started rolling out today. Therefore, Xbox owners should make sure to connect their consoles to a Wi-Fi network and get the latest update.
The new feature is designed to let Xbox players enter games at the same time they are being downloaded. With that said, FastStart is the perfect feature for eager Xbox fans who are excited about trying a new game and hate having to wait for it to finish installing first.
“FastStart works by identifying which files are needed to begin playing and prioritizes the download of those files first, enabling you to quickly jump into full-fidelity gameplay while the remainder of your title downloads in the background,” said Microsoft when describing the new feature.
We should mention that FastStart is not an innovative feature by any means since both PS4 and Xbox One systems come with a similar system. However, PS4 and Xbox One systems don’t allow players to start the game before it finished installing with all titles.
The reason behind this being that those games need to be tweaked out by developers in order to function like this. Therefore, FastStart makes sure that all games will be playable while installing at the same time.
FastStart currently supports 32 games and Microsoft promised that the list will keep expanding as time goes on. In addition, 17 of those 32 games are Xbox One exclusives, 3 are exclusive to Xbox 360 while the rest can be played on all Xbox consoles.
