The last year was a great one for iPhone fans, but we can’t say the same about people who like iPads more. Apple wasn’t too active in the iPad department in 2018 and this left iPad fans wanting more. Luckily for us and other Apple fans, the Cupertino based tech giant is expected to launch two brand-new tablets this year and both of them will feature amazing features.
Apple’s Plans for 2019
The reason why Apple stopped focusing on tablets is that the market demand wasn’t growing anymore. However, things have changed and Apple has noticed that its fans want to refresh their tablets and therefore, Apple is now planning to launch the highly anticipated iPad Mini 5 and another entry-level iPad model.
Expected Release Date
Apple has yet to confirm the launch date of the two new tablets, but they are expected to ship in the first half of 2019. The first one will be the iPad Mini 5 and the second tablet to launch will be a bigger 10-inch, but still entry-level iPad.
We should note that Ming-Chi Kuo who is a renowned Apple analyst that somehow manages to stay two moves ahead of the tech giant has said in October that Apple started working a new iPad that ships with an enhanced processor and a low-cost display panel. The analyst also said that the iPad will launch either in 2018 or 2019 and since we have entered 2019, the February launch date seems like a high probability.
The last thing that we want to go over is that Apple hasn’t refreshed its smallest iPad offering since September 2015. The 2015 iPad did receive a price cut in 2017 which put it at $399. Although, this wasn’t enough for iPad fans and this is why Apple wants to announce two new iPads next month.
