Twitter’s Crypto Community Entered Meme Overdrive After Ripple’s Announcement That Bill Clinton Will Host Its Event

Ripple will hold the Swell event in San Francisco and this will last for two days. It will take place this year between October 1 and 2.

The event will reportedly bring together the world’s most important experts on payments, policy, and technology.

The former president, Bill Clinton and National Economic Advisor, Gene Sperling, who served under both Obama’s and Clinton’s administration are included among the various speakers at the event.

Ripple’s Swell will be peeling every layer of crypto, and many discussion will revolve around the company and XRP, of course.

It’s raining memes

As you can imagine, after finding out that the keynote speaker will be Bill Clinton the crypto community began releasing memes like there’s no tomorrow.

Above, you can see Ripple’s original tweet and you can also have a taste of what followed.

Anyway, on a more serious note, Ripple compares itself and its goals and achievements to Clinton’s.

According to the company, he dissolved the previously existing gap between the implementation of technology within society. Ripple also called Clinton’s efforts a successful result of getting rid of the “digital divide.”

Ripple compares their company’s struggle to Clinton’s achievements

Ripple compared their company to Clinton’s successful attempts at supporting the technological evolution.

“Like the internet boom of the 90s, we are at an impasse: digital assets and blockchain technology offer a way for value to be exchanged as quickly as information […] However, with this new technology comes the potential for concern, requiring thoughtful policy to protect consumers from risk without hampering innovation,” Ripple stated.

Needless to say, the expectations involving this event are pretty high and we frankly can’t wait to see what will be discussed this fall. You can learn more about the event here.
