Samsung loves to make the most out of a bad situation. While the internet is buzzing with rumors about the leaked back panel of Galaxy S9, Samsung decided to use this attention and shift the focus on its upcoming Galaxy A8 and A8+ by announcing the official release dates.
Galaxy A8 and A8+ Global Launch Dates
The two smartphones have already arrived in South Korea, but this shouldn’t surprise anyone since that is Samsung’s home country and the place where Samsung’s smartphones sell best. Nonetheless, Galaxy A8 and A8+ will see an official global launch in early January 2018.
Furthermore, Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy A8 and A8+ in Las Vegas. From the looks of it, smartphones fans are going to have an interesting year because Galaxy A8 and A8+ will compete directly against Nokia 8 and OnePlus 5T.

The first thing we need to mention about the two new Galaxy A devices is that they will be the first from their lineup to ship with dual front cameras. Things get even better since this front placed dual camera setup is going to be paired with Live Focus feature. With that being said, selfie lovers are going to enjoy this new camera system.
Galaxy A8 will ship with a 5.6-inches FHD + Super AMOLED display that offers a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2200. On the other hand, the bigger model will feature a 6.0-inches FHD + Super AMOLED panel that puts out the same resolution.
In terms of power, both smartphones will be powered by an octa-core 2.2GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. Although, Galaxy A8 will be equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery while the larger variant will be fueled by a bigger 3,500 mAh battery.
