Overwatch is Available for Free This Weekend

If you ever wanted to give Overwatch a try because it looked fun but you didn’t feel like buying it, then we have some great news for you! Blizzard announced that it will launch a free weekend where everyone can play Overwatch without having to pay a dime.

The free weekend starts Thursday (August 23rd) and it ends on Monday (August 27th). All the progress that players complete during the free weekend will remain available if they decide to purchase the game afterward.

Free Overwatch Weekend

Not only is Blizzard kicking off a free Overwatch weekend, but it’s also making the game available to all platforms (PC, Xbox One and PS4). We should mention that this is not the first time that Blizzard has launch an event like this for Overwatch since the same thing happened last year. From the looks of it, giving players free access to Overwatch has helped Blizzard sell the game and this is why the process is repeating this year.

Battle Net Account

The only thing that PC players will need to do in order to download Overwatch for free is to create a Battle.net account. This is Blizzard’s own platform and it works similarly to Steam. In addition, PS4 and Xbox One fans can download the game directly from the “Store”.

Wrecking Ball

Another important thing that we need to go over is the fact that Overwatch has recently received its 28th hero, Wrecking Ball. This hero is a mech that is piloted by an anthropomorphic hamster that comes from the moon, same places as Winston. This is a tank hero and its super fun to play. Therefore, we advise Overwatch fans who are going to download the game over the weekend to give Wrecking Ball a try.
