Five years ago, in 2013, Ubisoft launched the last Splinter Cell game, Blacklist. Now, Sam Fisher, the main character in Splinter Cell, makes his return in the newest Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands update. This, according to some rumors, is a direct suggestion that a new Splinter Cell game will be launched soon.
Sam Fisher makes an appearance in the Splinter Cell-themed update of Ghost Recon Wildlands
Right after you’ve finished the PvE mission of the new update, a cutscene will start to play where Fisher is discussing with Karen Bowman, the Ghosts’ CO. The two talk about a possible “empty quiver” (a lost nuclear warhead).
Some fans have already discussed this and many think that this could be the perfect scenario for a new Splinter Cell game.
However, there’s nothing official regarding a possible future Splinter Cell title but the fans are truly excited about this Sam Fisher appearance in the Splinter Cell-themed update for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Ubisoft’ CEO admitted that developers are working on a new Splinter Cell title
Last year, a statement made by the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, was meant to arouse the desire for a new Splinter Cell among the game’s fans.
“Splinter Cell is a brand we talk about a lot. It’s also personally one of my favorite series. We don’t have anything specific to share at the moment but teams are working on different things, so stay tuned for more,” declared Yves Guillemot.
He also admitted that the developing team receives lots of sketches and ideas on a future Splinter Cell title and they will definitely pick one to work on. Besides, Yves also said that “you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.”
The new Splinter Cell content where Sam Fisher appears is available via the latest Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands update (Special Operations I) which has been rolled out for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
