Microsoft Surface Pro with LTE Support will be Released on December 1st

Microsoft took everyone by surprise when it unveiled a new Surface Pro model that supports LTE. This happened earlier this year and Microsoft promised that this new hybrid device will be available for purchase before 2017 ends. Well, it looks like Microsoft is keeping true to its word since it recently confirmed that Surface Pro with LTE will be available for purchase starting December 1st.

Microsoft Surface Pro with LTE Advanced

This premium hybrid device will be fueled by an Intel Core i5 processor that is coupled with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X16 modem. Microsoft wanted to make sure that the new Surface Pro will benefit from LTE connectivity even in low-signal condition because this chipset features 20 LTE bands.

Microsoft didn’t go into too much detail when it comes to battery power, but it did state the Surface Pro will offer up to 13.5 hours of watching videos. Considering how much battery charge LTE consumes, the device’s battery life might be heavily affected. We’ll just have to wait for December 1st and see for ourselves how well Surface Pro’s battery performs.

Release Date and Price

We need to mention that Microsoft didn’t plan on confirming that the new Surface Pro will be available starting December 1st. This information was leaked out by an employee during the Ignite session which took place last month. However, Microsoft decided to confirm this release date since the information was leaked anyways. Nonetheless, the hybrid device will feature a hefty price tag $1,449.
