Xbox One and Xbox 360 users are expected to spend the rest of their holidays in great joy, because Microsoft has come up with a new list of games that users are going to get for free to play in the month of January, 2016.

Microsoft normally provides all users with Xbox live membership plans with a list of free games each month. These games are generally known as Games With Gold.

Games With Gold generally are changed every month. The list of January has caused the list of December to be replaced by the list of January.

All the games from the previous game have departed, with the exception of Thief, which will be available till 15th of January, 2015 in this list.

After this, this game will be taken off and another famous Games with Gold title, called Zheros. Xbox One players will also be able to play The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing for free with this list.

This is not all, a few really interesting games have been added for gameplay in January. Some of the Notable ones that will feature for Xbox one are Killer Instinct: Season One Ultra Edition and Dirt Showdown.

The latter will be playable on Xbox 360 originally, but since Xbox One now supports backward compatibility, all Xbox 360 games in the list will apply for this feature.

The backward compatibility feature, if you are not aware about it, is an arrangement made by Microsoft to allow the owners of newer consoles to play Older games.

It means now all the games that you used to play on the Xbox 360 can run freely on the Xbox One.

Speaking of backward compatibility, users of the Xbox one will benefit from another addition to the Xbox 360 list. This game is termed as Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The game will be available from 16th January 2016. It will be available  till the end of the month in the list and will be playable both by the users of the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

Other games that you are going to get in backward compatibility are Sacred and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

If you really like this plan and want to be a part of this fest, you would need to sign up for the Xbox Live plan.

The Xbox Live membership will cost you $59.99 USD for a year, but there are many instances when offers are available which can cause a steep drop to $40 a year as well.
