Instagram Rolls Out a New “Parent-Oriented” Feature

Reports are showing that Instagram is now sitting at one billion monthly active users which puts it right up there with the likes of Facebook. The amazing thing about Instagram’s rapid growth is the fact that this app had 800 million monthly active users in 2017 which shows us that Instagram is on the rise.

The reason why Instagram’s popularity is growing so fast is because Facebook is losing most of its teenager user base and all of them are looking for another place where they can share their photos and interact with their friends.

Instagram Updates

Since Instagram is used by one billion people every month, the developers who are in charge of the app want to make sure that the app is always running at peak performance levels and they keep launching new updates. However, the new updates are not always focused on improving software performances and they also introduce new features.

New “Parent-Oriented” Feature

Instagram has just received a new “parent-oriented” feature that makes it easier for parents to check out all the other features that Instagram already has. The reason why this feature is being introduced is because Instagram wants to give parents a better understanding of how the app works and to help them talk with their kids about online activity.

Teenagers and Social Media

Nearly every teenager is on social media and parents who aren’t up to date with technology will find it difficult to talk with them about their online activity. Instagram’s new feature will present everything there is to know about the app and let parents know about the dangers of social media, making it easier for them to explain it to their kids.

Nonetheless, while this might not be a groundbreaking feature by any means, it’s great to see that Instagram wants to help parents get a better understanding of what their kids are doing on their smartphones all day long.
