Google surprised everyone when it announced that it no longer wants to create Nexus smartphones and that it plans to follow its own path and create the Pixel lineup instead. Android fans were upset to find out that Google will stop supporting the Nexus brand, but everything worked out in the end because the new Pixel smartphones launched with lots of innovative features and impressive hardware specs. Although, not everything went according to Google’s plan.

Pixel 2 XL Camera Issues

There is no such thing as a perfect smartphone, but we have to admit that the latest Pixel smartphone is considered to be the “ideal Android powered device” since it represents Google’s flagship smartphone. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the latest Pixel 2 XL is held in high regard and that Android fans were quite upset to find out that it has its fair share of issues.

“Fatal Error” when Using Pixel 2 XL Camera

“First my camera stops working due to a ‘fatal error’ on my Google Pixel 2 XL and before I even get a chance to contact @Google about it, my iPod decides to stop working even after a factory reset. I flipping love technology” said a Twitter user named Ciara.

People started noticing the Tweet and Google decided to try and fix this issue with a response by making the following statement: “That doesn’t sound good, Ciara. Try clearing the Camera app’s cache: Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Camera > Storage > Clear Cache > Restart device. Let us know if that helps”.

Google’s Fix Doesn’t Work

Unfortunately, Google wasn’t able to fix the Twitter user’s Pixel 2 XL camera issues. To make things even worse, more Pixel 2 XL owners Tweeted at Google with the same issue and the Android parent promised that it’s looking to repair this issue through an OTA (over the air) software fix.
