The launch of a new version of Google’s mobile operating system is now becoming a summer tradition. In this respect, Google has just released the third beta of Android P, which will be the closest one to the final version.
The third beta of Android P will include the latest security updates and bug fixes
As Dave Burke points out in the official announcement, this beta, which he qualifies as an “early release candidate version” includes “the latest bug fixes and optimizations for stability and polish, along with the July 2018 security updates.” Mostly it is intended for developers to test the performance of their applications, and if necessary, add features compatible with the new features of the latest version.
In this regard, Burke notes that developers will be able to take advantage of “multiple camera support, screen cropping, enhanced notifications, ImageDecoder, TextClassifier and many others.”
Google Pixel users in the Android Beta program will first receive the latest Android P Beta version
The new beta version begins to arrive early to the Google Pixel devices that participate in the Android Beta program.
The other partners participating in this program will also receive the new beta version in the coming weeks.
With this, there is much less time left for us to see all that Android P has to offer, which is between one and two months before its final release.
It is likely that, at this stage, the final version may include few new features with respect to everything you have been receiving along the way, where it is likely that Google will finish optimizing and fixing minor issues that are still pending, taking into account that this third beta Android P version is the closest version to the final version Google plans on launching by the end of this summer.
