Fortnite is a fun game and there’s no doubt about that! However, one of the game’s most fun features proved to so powerful that it broke the game! The feature we are talking about is a weapon called Guided Missile and the Epic Games was forced to remove it from the game days after being introduced. However, it seems like Fortnite fans are in for a treat because Epic Games has announced that the Guided Missile is returning.
Fortnite Overpowered Weapon
As the weapon’s name implies, Fortnite fans could launch a big missile and guide it through the map scouting for players. While this might not seem like such a game breaking thing, the Guided Missile started becoming overpowered when it fell into the right hands.
Skilled players could snipe people across the map and down them with one shot! Players were outraged and Epic Games was forced to make the following statement:
” We’ve gotten a lot of feedback around the Guided Missile, in particular concerns over fairness and strength of the weapon. We share your concerns, so we’ve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for its future” said Epic Games.
The Guided Missile Is Returning
Fortnite recently launched a short developer update where it announced that the Guided Missile is coming back. Although, this is not the Guided Missile you remember since Epic Games has reworked it. Epic Games is saying that instead of being a high damage weapon, the Guided Missile has been designed as a “scouting tool” instead.
Epic Games reduced the ammo cap for the Guided Missile to 12 and it made it harder for players to control it. Therefore, players are not going to have to worry about being sniped from across the map anymore.
