Black Desert Online is an MMO which launched in South Korea back in 2014. The game went to release in both the Eastern and Western markets in 2018 and it has been a success. Nonetheless, a mobile version of Black Desert Online is expected to launch in 2019 and Pearl Abyss who is the company in charge of this game has acquired CCP Games, the developer team who created the famous Eve Online game.

Black Desert Online and Eve Online Developer

CCP Games posted a press release today in which it made the following statement: “we will continue to operate independently as a developer with studios in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai, while integrating the company’s extensive development and publishing expertise into Pearly Abyss’s operations for all current and future projects”.

Making Black Desert Online Better

As previously mentioned, Black Desert Online launched in the Eastern and Western markets this year and the game has been a success. Although, Black Desert Online failed to deliver on some promises since everyone was dubbing the game as “the next World of Warcraft killer”, something which Black Desert Online failed to do.

The problem with Black Desert Online is not about gameplay, but about the fact that there isn’t that much end game content. Black Desert Online was the most streamed game on Twitch when it first launched and some players were able to basically “finish” everything in the end game content in less than a couple of days. Obviously, this made fans lose interest in the game.

Bright Future

What we can take from this latest news is that Pearl Abyss is determined to make Black Desert Online a success and that the addition of CCP Games is going to help with that. Eve Online is massive MMO and CCP Games have more than enough experience needed to improve Black Desert Online.
