With the rise in the world of technology and social media, it has been getting easier to get social while sitting at the comfort of one’s homes.
While many have had their own opinions on dating apps, the fact of the matter is, that dating applications and websites have been rather successful.
Tinder has been one of the biggest names when it comes to the world of dating apps, and has been updating itself quite frequently.
What separates Tinder from the rest of the ‘dating’ apps is that Tinder has gained more of a social acceptability and is not one of those shady looking applications where men pretend to be women and talk to other men pretending to be women. Tinder has an air of authenticity and social acceptability around itself.
The app has been rising in popularity and has been coming out with several updates and upgrades. The latest Tinder update now allows the users to share profiles with their friends.
If you are a Tinder user, and you come across a profile of a person you think is suitable for your friend, you can now share that profile with your friend.
The link to the profile can be clicked on only 5 times, and is valid only for 72 hours, for privacy concerns. The friend you send it to can swipe it left or right, and in case of it being a match, you can be happy with yourself, claiming to be the cupid in their relationship.
The official blog post for this matchmaker update on Tinder reads:
“We are testing the ability to play matchmaker on Tinder. While swiping through potential matches, a small group of users may see the option to share a profile they come across.
Tapping the ‘share’ icon will allow you to send a temporary link via text to a friend, and give them the ability to swipe on the profile you shared.
The link will expire after five clicks or 72 hours – whichever comes first. Users can choose to opt out of having a sharable profile by visiting Discovery Settings.”
The company had earlier released an update which allowed the users to use GIFs in the Tinder platform. The app has been rising in popularity, and with these new features it is ensuring more engagement and more reactions over time.
