Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is the next AAA game from Ubisoft and its scheduled to launch on October 5th. There is lots of hype surrounding this game because the previous title, Origins, was a major success and it raised the standards bar for every other Assassin’s Creed game.
Furthermore, Nintendo has been making some huge announcements during these past few days such as the fact that the first ever Nintendo Switch Online Membership service has launched, but not just that. Nintendo also announced something important that Assassin’s Creed fans need to know about.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was released for the Nintendo Switch earlier this year as a cloud-based game. This means that instead of downloading the game directly on the console, players received access to it directly through Capcom’s servers. Well, it looks like Nintendo liked the way this system worked because it announced that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will also be available through the cloud.
Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the Cloud
Nintendo Switch fans will be able to play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey without having to wait for the game to download when it launches because it’s going to be available on the cloud. However, there is a catch to this.
The only Nintendo Switch fans who will get access to this feature are Japanese residents. The reason behind this is simple, Nintendo can’t offer fast internet speeds for the cloud in other countries because all its servers are located in Japan.
Let’s hope that Nintendo manages to offer cloud services to everyone in the upcoming future. Nonetheless, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a fantastic game and we can be sure that Nintendo Switch fans are going to have lots of fun playing it, especially since the new game will introduce a lot more RPG elements that separate it from previous titles.
