Google is getting closer to launching Android P and this is fantastic news for Android fans. The new operating system is packed with a plethora of features that will refresh how Android-powered smartphones feel by adding a new colorful and rounded interface alongside a bunch of other cool features.
Google has already launched the second developer preview for Android P and eager fans can get their hands on the latest features ahead of everyone else by enlisting the beta program. With that said, today we are going to check out the most important features that the second developer preview of Android P brings.
Introducing Smart Replies
One of the best things about owning an Android-powered smartphone is the highly optimized notification system that Google’s operating system offers. Well, it looks like Android P is going to take things to the next level by introducing Smart Replies. As the feature’s name implies, users will be able to respond to messages by simply tapping the screen.
New Volume Slider
Apple introduced a new volume slider in one of its previous iOS updates and Google doesn’t want to be left behind. Therefore, Android P comes with a new volume slider that lets users alter the audio volume by placing a slider in the middle of the screen.
Another great feature that is being introduced alongside Android P is called Lockdown mode. This mode can be activated by taping the power button and then selecting the “Lockdown” option. The mode disables the fingerprint sensor and it makes the smartphones unlockable through biometric sensors.
More to Come
Even though the three features we talked about are not groundbreaking or innovative, Google promises that there is more to come. The public version of Android P is scheduled to come out in October alongside the new Pixel smartphones and that’s when we will see the range of features that Android P has to offer.
